In the early morning of November 5th, 2024, a semi-truck and trailer was stolen from 73 Street in the 4700 block in Camrose, Alberta. The semi-truck had GPS and was recovered in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.
The Camrose Police reached out to the Wetaskiwin Crime Reduction Unit who identified the prolific property offender.
On November 14th, 2024, the Wetaskiwin R.C.M.P. and the Camrose Police Service executed a search warrant at a home on 52 Avenue in the 4800 block in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.
Joseph Ervin LEWIS (48-year-old male) was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, theft over $5000.00, possession of stolen property over $5000.00 and two counts of failing to comply with previous release conditions. A search of the residence recovered the stolen property that was in the back of the trailer.
LEWIS was brought before a Justice and released to appear in Camrose Provincial Court at a later date.
