September 2
Possession of Stolen Property and Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card
Police received a report of a vehicle break-in at a local hotel and a wallet was stolen. Witnesses provided descriptions of a male and female observed leaving the vehicle. Later that morning, the victim reported an attempted purchase using one of the stolen cards at a local retail business. Police located a 39-year-old male and a 38-year-old female matching witness descriptions. Both were charged with Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000 and Unauthorized Use of a Stolen Credit Card. The accused were released on appearance documents pending future court dates.
September 3
Concern for Public Well-Being
At approximately 6 am police received reports of individuals acting erratically in the area of 53 Street in the 4500 block in the early morning hours. The first complaint involved a male walking along the roadway without pants, while a second report indicated a female was attempting to stop passing traffic. Police conducted patrols of the area but were unable to locate the couple.
Three-Vehicle Collision
Police responded to a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of 66 Street and 48 Avenue. Investigation determined a 94-year-old driver attempting a left-hand turn into a shopping centre parking lot was struck by an eastbound vehicle travelling through the intersection. Both vehicles proceeded through the intersection following the collision. The operators of both vehicles, along with a passenger from the turning vehicle, were transported to hospital for assessment. The collision remains under investigation.
Suspicious Behaviour
A resident attended the Camrose Police Service to report an unknown male acting suspiciously in a backyard in the 5000 block of 52A Street. The complainant also expressed concerns regarding ongoing theft activity in the neighbourhood. The information was documented for patrol awareness.
September 4
Suspicious Person
At approximately 7:25 am a complaint was received regarding a male carrying a significant amount of personal property in front of a residence on 48 Street. The male was observed entering a side yard before leaving the area. Police attended but were unable to locate the individual.
Causing Concern
At approximately 9:45 am police responded to reports of a male yelling while walking in the middle of 47 Avenue. Officers located the 28-year-old male and determined there were no immediate concerns for his well-being.
Concern for Well-Being
At approximately 4 pm police attended the 4800 block of 51 Street after receiving a report of a male lying under a blanket in a parking lot. Police located the 45-year-old male, served him with documents relating to a prior matter and instructed him to leave the area.
Immediate Roadside Sanction
At approximately 4:45 pm a suspicious person and vehicle complaint was received near the Aquatic Centre. A 55-year-old male failed a Standard Field Sobriety Test and was transported to the Camrose Police Service for assessment by a Drug Recognition Expert. Following the evaluation, the operator of the subject vehicle was issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction and the vehicle was seized and towed.
Trespass
Police received reports of two males rummaging through a dumpster in a rear alley within the 4800 block of 48 Street. Police located the individuals, and at the request of the property caretaker, a 45-year-old male was issued a Trespass Notice.
Erratic Driving
Police responded to reports of a vehicle being driven erratically in a local retail parking lot. Police located the vehicle and issued the youth operator of the subject vehicle an equipment violation ticket as well as a Trespass Notice for the property.
September 5
Rollover Collision Investigation
Police responded to a report of a rollover collision near Range Road 204 and Township Road 464. Upon arrival, police located the vehicle but found it unoccupied. Investigation identified the registered owner as an 18-year-old who was later located at the hospital. Police continue to investigate the collision.
Theft from Shed
Police received a report of a theft from a storage shed in the 4800 block of 48 Street. A weed trimmer and batteries were reported stolen sometime overnight. The matter remains under investigation.
September 6
Theft Under $5,000
A 25-year-old female attended the Camrose Police Service in relation to a theft investigation from a local business on August 30. She was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5,000 and released on an undertaking with conditions, including not attending the affected business.
Property Damage Complaint
Police responded to a complaint involving a customer who had damaged property at a local gas station and refused to provide identification. Officers attended and successfully mediated the dispute between the 42-year-old male and the business.
No Insurance and Expired Registration
During a traffic stop, police determined a vehicle was being operated without valid insurance and with expired registration. The 27-year-old operator of the vehicle was also found to be in possession of open liquor and untaxed cigarettes. The driver was issued violation tickets for no insurance, no registration, possession of open liquor and possession of untaxed tobacco. The vehicle was towed from the roadway.
Obstruction
At approximately 9:30 pm, while conducting proactive patrols, police located a vehicle displaying mismatched licence plates and determined the vehicle was uninsured and unregistered. Investigation revealed a 38-year-old female was living in the vehicle. When the vehicle was ordered to be towed, the female repeatedly refused lawful directions to exit. She was arrested for obstruction and transported to Camrose Police Service cells. She was later released on documents.
Property Damage Investigation
Shortly after midnight police responded to a report of an assault and damage to a window at a local motel. The suspect, a 34-year-old male, had left prior to police arrival. The investigation remains ongoing.
Causing a Disturbance
At approximately 1:30 am police attended the 5400 block of 50 Street following complaints of a female screaming outside during the early morning hours. Officers located the 30-year-old female and issued a warning.
September 8
Break and Enter and Vehicle Theft
At approximately 8:15 am police received a report of a break and enter at a local health clinic after employees discovered offices had been entered and property stolen, including electronic devices and telephones. Investigation determined a male suspect unlawfully entered the building during the early morning hours. Investigators also determined an SUV was stolen during the incident. The investigation remains active.
Public Intoxication
At approximately 7:45 pm reports were received of an intoxicated male outside a local liquor store. Police arrested the 56-year-old male for public intoxication and lodged him in Camrose Police Service cells until sober. He was later released without incident.
Outstanding Warrant
During a traffic stop for an equipment violation, police determined the 49-year-old operator of the vehicle was wanted on an outstanding warrant related to a previous no-insurance offence. The male was arrested and subsequently released after the warrant was addressed.
