This state of the art Primary 911 Centre, receives, evaluates and dispatches calls for service for Police & Fire within the City of Camrose and also includes the County of Camrose for Fire response. We have recently upgraded our systems to be compliant with Next Generation 911 requirements as mandated by the CRTC. Our call evaluators/dispatchers are professionally trained and certified, providing first rate service to our members and the community.
This specialized role provides support to our Major Crimes Section and patrol by analyzing crime trends and hotspots. The Crime Analyst also collaborates and communicates with other Crime Analysts in Central Alberta, sharing information/intelligence on criminal activity. This allows us to direct our resources more efficiently, having an intelligence led approach to impact crime in our community.
Our in-house IT department consists of an IT Systems Analyst and a Help Desk technician. As policing becomes more complex and technologically reliant, having this expertise within our building is a significant benefit.
The Camrose Police Services provides an in-house unit for individuals affected by crime or trauma-inducing events. A full-time case manager along with two part-time case workers coordinate with a cadre of volunteers to provide care and support to those in need of these services. This is a Provincially funded Unit that has deep roots and value within our community.
