Notable Incidents
Theft
A person reported the theft of approximately $50 worth of firewood from their property. A description of the subject vehicle was provided. Further investigation led to the arrest and charging of a 47-year-old female.
Attempted theft
Police arrested and charged a youth with attempted theft, public mischief and using a disguise with intent, after an investigation revealed the youth had entered a local liquor store wearing a mask and attempted to steal a bottle of liquor.
Warrant out of Brooks
Police arrested a male on an outstanding warrant out of Brooks.
Stolen licence plate
A person reported the licence plate of their vehicle had been stolen and replaced with, what was determined to be, another stolen licence plate out of Edmonton.
Impaired driving
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. The 66-year-old female operator of the vehicle showed signs of impairment and was issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction and violation tickets.
Scam
A person reported being scammed out of approximately $1235 by a telephone caller, identifying as a representative of a known not-for-profit organization, indicating the victim had won a large sum of money and a new truck.
Assault
A person reported being assaulted at a local motel. This matter is still under investigation.
Criminal harassment
Police charged a male with criminal harassment, uttering threats (two counts) and extortion, based on an earlier complaint and investigation.
Theft
A person reported theft of approximately $400 cash from their purse at a local business. This matter is under investigation.
Stolen vehicle
A person reported their vehicle stolen from the area of 60 Street and 4100 Block.
Public intoxication
A person reported a male acting erratically on Main Street. Police attended and located and arrested the male subject for public intoxication, housed him in Camrose Police Service cells and released him in the morning when sober.
Assault
A person reported being assaulted on Main Street by three male subjects. A youth was arrested for assault and released to a guardian.
Stolen merchandise
A representative of a local retail business reported a male and female stole approximately $44 worth of merchandise and left in a van (description provided.) Police are investigating the matter.
Public intoxication
A person reported an unresponsive male subject laying on their front lawn. Police attended and located and arrested an 18-year-old male for public intoxication. The male was later released when sober.
Causing issues
A representative of a local motel reported a male guest was causing issues. Police attended and located the male subject and issued a trespass notice.
No registration no insurance
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on a report of suspected impaired driving. The operator of the vehicle was not impaired but was issued tickets for no insurance and no registration.
Impaired driving
A person reported a motorcyclist was laying on the ground by a turned over motorcycle. Police attended and noted the driver (of the motorcycle) was showing sign signs of impairment. Police administered an Alcohol Screening Device test which the subject failed. He was issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction and the motorcycle was towed.
Theft
A representative of a local retail business reported a male subject stole products and left in a vehicle (licence plate number and description provided) and the female subject left on foot. This matter is still under investigation.
Disturbance
A person reported a disturbance in a neighbouring apartment. Police attended and determined the male subject lied about his identity and was subsequently arrested for obstruction.
Assault
A person reported a male (known to them) subject had assaulted them. Police attended and arrested the male to prevent a further breach of peace.
Disturbance
A person reported a disturbance in the area of Mount Pleasant Drive. Police attended and determined a male had threatened another male and shoved a female. The male subject was arrested for assault and uttering threats.
Unlawful encampment
A person reported an unlawful encampment in the Mirror Lake area. Camrose Community Peace Officer attended and arranged for supports for the subject involved.
Fail to produce insurance and possession of two licences
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for equipment violations. The operator of the vehicle was issued tickets for failing to produce insurance and being in possession of two licences.
Intoxication
A person reported a male subject jumped into the box of the person reporting’s truck. Police attend and located the intoxicated male who was arrested and transported to Camrose Police Service cells and released when sober.
