Theft from Motor Vehicle
Police received a report that a vehicle was entered on the south side. The back window of a resident’s Ford Expedition was broken and her purse was stolen. The incident is still under investigation.
Hit and Run
At approximately 4:00 P.M. a female reported her white Mazda was struck while parked at Habitat for Humanity. The suspect vehicle, described as an older red beat up truck with a white tank in the box, left the area. Members were able to obtain a witness statement.
Mischief/Damage to Property
A south-side resident reported returning home from work to find both of his vehicles damaged. The damage likely occurred the previous week. The investigation determined that a 20-year-old male, who had already been arrested and charged for other acts of mischief, was responsible. The investigation is ongoing.
Shoplifting/Stolen Vehicle
An off-duty police office reported a theft from a west-end business. The suspects were seen leaving in a brown truck with a slip tank in the box. A check of the license plate revealed the truck had been reported stolen from Sundre. Suspects have been identified, and the investigation continues.
June 16
At approximately 3:00 A.M. on June 16th, a traffic stop was conducted on a speeding vehicle. A 26-year-old male was found to be driving under the influence and blew a caution. He also received traffic tickets for speeding and improper disposal of waste on public land.
Mischief /Damage to Property
A female reported that the driver-side mirror of her vehicle had been smashed last week. This incident occurred in the same area as other reported acts of mischief. The investigation is continuing.
Warrants
Police were called to a north-side residence regarding an intoxicated female refusing to leave. The 54-year-old female was found to have outstanding warrants for assault, failing to comply, failing to appear and a Cannabis Act offence. She was released once sober and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
