BVJ – Day 3
Police conducted a check stop in the campground in the morning hours. A 19-year old male driver provided a breath sample which resulted in a “caution” on the roadside approved screening device. The male driver was issued a license suspension and his vehicle was seized and towed.
Police conducted an impaired driving investigation in the BVJ campground which led to the arrest of a 24-year old driver. The male provided a “fail” on the roadside approved screening device. The male was transported to the Camrose Police Service and lodged in cells until sober. The male was issued a trespass notice and his wrist band was removed for the rest of the event.
Police conducted a traffic stop and determined the 44-year old male’s driver’s license was suspended. The male was issued a Summons to attend court at a later date.
BVJ Security requested assistance with an intoxicated male that was uncooperative and refusing the leave the grounds when asked. Police attended and attempted to mediate the situation but the male still refuse to leave. Police placed the 24-year old male under arrest for Public Intoxication and transported him in cell, to be held until sober.
While on patrol, noted a large golf cart being driven erratically in the Heartland Campground. Attempted a vehicle stop but golf cart fled from members, crashing into an RV and 4 occupants fleeing on foot. Police caught two of the individuals involved. The investigation revealed the golf cart had been stolen from the CRE. Police charged a 23 and 26-year old male for Possession of stolen property and for resist arrest. The males were transported to cells, pending their release when sober.
