Shoplifting Incident
A downtown business reported a shoplifting incident involving a male suspect. Upon arrival, the police identified the suspect as a 46-year-old male. The stolen item was promptly returned, and the individual was issued a trespass notice.
Vehicle Theft and Credit Card Misuse Incident
In a separate incident, a vehicle was reported stolen without consent from Edmonton, with the owner’s wallet inside. Subsequently, one of the owner’s credit cards was attempted to be used at a west end Camrose business. Although the owner declined to provide a statement regarding the credit card misuse, they were advised to contact the Edmonton Police Service regarding the unauthorized vehicle use.
Fraudulent Email
A local business intercepted a suspicious email supposedly from the business owner, requesting money to be transferred. Recognizing inconsistencies, the recipient contacted their bank, which successfully halted the transfer. The Police are currently investigating the incident.
Roadside Suspension and Drug Intoxication
The Police responded to a report of a parked truck with two individuals found slumped over inside. Upon investigation, a 46-year-old male and a 33-year-old female were discovered to be intoxicated by drugs. A small amount of fentanyl was seized from the truck. The female received a 24-hour driving suspension, and her license was seized, while the male was arrested and detained until sober.
