Theft under $5000
An east end business reported a theft of a wallet which was stolen from their premises. The business has surveillance footage of a female taking the wallet, and the police are investigating the incident.
Shoplifting
A downtown business reported an incident of shoplifting involving a male suspect and provided the police with a description of the male. The police were able to locate the 24-year-old male and issued him a trespass notice and a violation ticket for public intoxication.
Bylaw – Dog Control
Between May 5, 2024, and May 10, 2024, Camrose Police received calls of 2 separate dog attacks. These attacks were unrelated, involving different dogs, but both involved dogs at large that attacked other dogs. The dog that was injured during the incident on May 5 was treated for puncture wounds and is at home recovering. The dog that was attacked on May 10 was treated for puncture wounds but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries later in the day. Both matters were investigated, and the following charges under the City of Camrose Dog Control Bylaw 3257-23 were laid:
Dog at Large x2
Dog Unlicensed x2
Dog causing damage or nuisance x1
Dog Attack Causing Serious Injury to Animal x1
Dog Attack Causing Death to another Animal x1
The Dogs responsible were deemed Dangerous as per the City of Camrose Dog Control Bylaw and will be required to be kept in accordance with the provisions of the Bylaw if they remain in the City of Camrose.
Dog Owners are reminded that they are responsible for ensuring that their dogs are Licensed as per Section 5 of the Dog Control Bylaw, securely kept on private property when off leash, and securely leashed and restrained when off private property as per Section 22 of Dog Control Bylaw 3527-23.
