Notable Incidents

Stolen truck

A person reported their truck stolen while parked over night at a local hotel.

Suspicious person

A person reported an unknown male in their garage in the area of 64 Street and 4800 Block. They provided a description and a name (given to them by the male subject). Police attended the male subject was gone upon police arrival.

Causing issues

A person reported a male subject causing issues at a local retail store/gas station. Police attended, located and arrested the 33-year-old male and transported him to Camrose Police Service cells.

Scam

A person reported being the victim of a fake not-for-profit scam, losing approximately $475.

Theft

A person reported the theft of copper wire worth approximately $5,000 from a local construction business.  The next day a person reported suspicious activity around the property of a local construction business. They provided police with a description of the vehicle involved. CCTV footage revealed the suspect vehicle. Further investigation revealed the theft of copper wire. Police located the subject vehicle parked at a local motel, noting copper wire inside the vehicle. Upon speaking with the registered owner of the vehicle they were able to ascertain and subsequently arrest two suspects in the earlier theft of copper wire. The two suspects aged 37-years-old and 43-years old were charged with Break and Enter with Intent to Commit Theft under $5,000, Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000 and Possession of Break In Instruments.

Intoxication in public place

Two people reported a male subject at a local restaurant inquiring about drugs and in possession of a bottle of alcohol. Police attended and arrested the 35-year-old male for public intoxication and transported him to Camrose Police Service cells.

Impaired driver

Police conducted a traffic stop on suspicion of impaired driving. Th 59-year-old female driver refused an Alcohol Screening Device test and was transported to Camrose Police Service cells where she was issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction, three violation tickets and housed until sober.

911 needing assistance

A female called 911 several times requesting assistance (then hanging up). Police quickly attended the subject address and arrested a 36-year-old male subject in breach of a no-contact order.

No registration, no insurance

Police conducted a traffic stop on an unregistered vehicle. The female operator of the vehicle was issued tickets for no registration and no insurance. The vehicle was towed.

Stolen wallet

A person reported their wallet was stolen out of a locker at the Aquatic Centre and that multiple unlawful charges were made on their credit card. The matter is still under investigation.

Erratic driving

A person reported a vehicle (description provided) driving erratically in a local parking lot. Police attended and conducted a traffic stop on the subject vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.

Outstanding warrants

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no registration. The 23-year-old male driver had outstanding fines totaling $1,400. The male was issued tickets for no registration and no insurance.

Equipment violation

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. The 19-year-old male operator of the vehicle failed a Mandatory Alcohol Screening Device test and was issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction. The vehicle was seized.

Nuisance dog

A person reported a nuisance dog barking. Police attended the subject residence of complaint and issued tickets to the homeowner.

Causing issues

Police received a report of an unknown, intoxicated male knocking on several doors in an apartment building in the area of Grand Drive. Police located the male subject (known to police) and issued him a trespass notice.

Possession prohibited weapon

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. The 30-year-old female driver and 25-year-old female passenger were arrested. The driver was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and illegal drugs and the passenger was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.

Assault by youth

A person reported that a youth had been assaulted at a local recreation park by three other youth. The victim was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital and treated for minor injuries. After an investigation police located two youth and issued one with a violation ticket and the other with a trespass notice.

Outstanding warrants

Police arrested a 52-year-old male for outstanding fines totaling $3,000.

Misuse of licence plates

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for misuse of licence plates. The 60-year-old male operator of the vehicle was issued tickets for no insurance and other violations. The vehicle was towed.

Obstruction

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for equipment violations. The 59-year-old male operator of the vehicle refused a Mandatory Alcohol Screening test and was issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction. The male became difficult to deal with so was arrested for obstruction and transported to Camrose Police Service cells.
