An overpayment scam was reported to Police where a citizen was selling an item over social media and received a cheque from Crown Battery of Canada exceeding the agreed price. The buyer was attempting to get the difference paid back to them rather than the company. Police contacted the company who were aware of the scam and implementing measures to prevent further scams.
A male contacted police stating he was becoming mentally unstable and in need of mental health intervention. CPS’s Police and Crisis Team (PACT) attended to assess the male and provide assistance for mental health. The male was taken to hospital at his request to seek further assistance for medical and psychiatric care.
