The family of a Camrose resident reported that their family member had fallen victim to a romance scam, and they had sent a large amount of money to someone on-line. Police are investigating.
Police dealt with a few complaints about persons skating on the Mirror Lake ice rink. On January 31st the City of Camrose declared that due to the warm weather, all outdoor rinks have been closed until further notice. Please be sure to stay off the ice until it has been determined to be safe.
Police responded to a complaint that an adult son had assaulted his mother and his grandmother and then fled from their residence. Police searched the area for an extended period of time and continued to investigate. Eventually the male came out of hiding and he was placed under arrest. A 44-year-old male from Evansburg has been charged with numerous offences and is currently in custody to await a Judicial Interim Release Hearing.
Police took a report regarding harassment between two former co-workers.
Police concluded a theft investigation and charged an 18-year-old male from Camrose in regard to a theft that occurred in December. The male was released on an Undertaking and given a court date.
