An attempted fraud was reported in relation to a grandparent scam. An elderly female was contacted and advised her grandson needed bail money and the female was prepared to pay it. The fraud was disrupted by a family member who identified the scam and prevented the fraud from occurring. ***Police are reminding the public to be alert and spread awareness that financial scams are on the rise and particularly escalated during the holiday season. ***
Two males were arrested on outstanding warrants in separate instances. Both males were held for bail hearings.
Police assisted hotel staff with the eviction of unwanted guests that were refusing to leave. The situation was mediated without further issue.
