Stolen items

A resident reported their Honda 3000 generator and two gas cans were stolen from their trailer located in the area of 6402 and 30 Avenue. Investigation continues.

Resisted arrest

Police conducted a vehicle stop for speeding. The female driver provided a false name. Police determined her actual identity and that she had no drivers licence, registration and insurance and misuse of licence plates. The female was placed under arrest for obstruction, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of drugs (meth, GHB and prescription pills.) The female resisted arrest and failed a Drug Recognition Expert exam.

Stolen truck

A person reported their 2007 Chevy Silverado was stolen. Investigation continues.

Damage to private property

A person reported damage to their private property by a known female. Investigation continues.

Online fraud

A person reported losing $4,800 to an online rental scam (Peace of Mind Rentals). Victim had viewed several rentals for residences online, signed a rental agreement for a residence and then e-transferred the funds. When they went to the location of the rental residence they spoke with neighbours who indicted that residence was not for rent but for sale.  The online advertisement has since been removed. Investigation continues.

Stolen bike

A person reported their black BMX with red grip handles, stolen from the area of 4837-52A Street and indicated the theft was recorded on video. The bike was recovered and the investigation continues.

Major collision

Police responded to a report of a major collision on Highway 13 resulting in the closure of the highway in both directions.  The offending vehicle made a U-turn in front of two lanes of oncoming traffic. Subsequently the vehicle was struck by a pickup truck. Two people in the truck were transported by EMS to hospital.  Charges pending.

Impaired driver

Police conducted a traffic stop and as the vehicle pulled over it struck a parked vehicle causing minor damage to the parked vehicle. The driver of the subject vehicle blew a caution on a Mandatory Alcohol Screening Device. Police determined the driver to be a provincially suspended driver, issued tickets for driving while suspended, liquor within reach of the driver, and possession of illegal cigarettes. The subject vehicle was towed.

Collision

A person reported a collision involving their vehicle and a semi-truck. The operator of the other vehicle provided statements. Investigation continues.

Unlawful entry to vehicle

A person reported their vehicle was entered unlawfully in the area of 4623 and 65 Street. Household items, tools and documents (including registration and insurance) were stolen.

Unlawful entry to rental property

A rental property owner reported an evicted tenant entered their vacant rental property and on a later date entered again and was attempting to change the locks. Police conducted extra patrols of the subject property.

Collision causing damage to private property and injury

Person reported (911 call) a collision occurring at 4611 45 Street. A second 911 caller indicated some youth drove a vehicle into their neighours fence then left the scene running. Police located the male driver of the subject vehicle and six other youth involved. Police determined the diver was speeding in the alley and lost control, hit a transformer pole and then drove through the fence. Two of the seven youth involved were transported by EMS to hospital for injury as a result of the collision. Investigation continues.

False Id

Police conducted a traffic stop and determined the driver falsely identified themselves. Police confirmed actual identity of driver and that they were a suspended driver. Driver was arrested for identity fraud and obstruction and issued a ticket for driving while suspended.

Vehicle equipment violation

Police conducted a vehicle equipment violation stop resulting in arresting and charging the driver with driving while criminally suspended from driving.

Collision

Police attended a collision involving two vehicles at 49 Avenue and 48 Street. One female driver was charged with failing to proceed when safe to do so. Both vehicles were towed.

Theft from trailer

A person reported their work trailer had been broken into in the area of 6209 39 Avenue. Tools and rolls of electrical wire were reported stolen.

Unlawful entry to vehicle

Police received two reports of vehicle windows being smashed and purses stolen from the vehicles.

Police remind everyone to always remove or hide away all valuables from/in vehicles, close the windows and lock door.
