Smashed window
A person reported a known suspect smashed out the window of their residence. Police located and arrested the suspect.
Impaired driving
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that nearly collided with a parked vehicle. The operator of the vehicle provided a breath sample on an Alcohol Screening Device and failed. The operator of the vehicle failed a second sample on a roadside appeal. The operator of the vehicle was charged and the vehicle was towed.
Vehicles being entered unlawfully
Police received several reports of vehicles (unlocked) being entered unlawfully and items being stolen from inside the vehicle, including loose change and credit cards.
Police would like to remind citizens to close all vehicle windows and lock doors and do not leave items that can be stolen in plain view, remove them or lock them in the trunk, where available.
Theft of truck
A representative of a local business reported an attempted theft of a truck (which was reported stolen out of Trochu.) The two suspects left in the stolen truck.
Unconscious male in vehicle
A person reported a male slumped over in a running vehicle for over 45 minutes, located outside a local hotel. Police attended and were unable to get a response from the person inside the vehicle. Police entered the vehicle to determine the status of the male. EMS attended and cleared the male who admitted to unlawful drug use. The male was arrested.
Attempt theft of trucks/theft of truck
A person reported the attempted theft of their 2001 Dodge Ram truck in the area of 6803 42 Avenue. The vehicle ignition was pulled out.
Another person reported the attempted theft of their 1999 Dodge Ram truck in the area of 4204 70 Street. The truck door locks were punched out and ignition broken.
A person reported their Dodge Ram truck stolen over night in the area of 6625 44 Avenue.
Erratic driver
A person reported a vehicle driving into the ditch in the area of 54 Avenue and 4000 Block. Police attended and conducted a traffic stop on the subject vehicle. The vehicle was determined to be owned by Leduc County and the licence plate belonging to a vehicle owned by an electric company. The operator of the vehicle was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property.
Follow up of the above incident determined the truck was stolen from a local business compound. The operator of the vehicle was charged with Break and Enter, Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Stolen Property.
Near collision
A person reported a vehicle nearly collided with them while entering a local parking lot. Police located the subject vehicle and charged the operator of the vehicle.
Attempted theft of truck
A person reported the attempted theft of a 250/350 Ford truck.
Collisions
A collision occurred on 48 Avenue involving a semi truck turning eastbound from 39 Street to 48 Avenue colliding with a passenger vehicle, causing extensive damage to the passenger vehicle. The operator of the semi truck was charged.
A collision occurred on 48 Avenue and 68 Street involving two passenger vehicles, causing damage. The operator of the vehicle travelling westbound was charged.
Causing disturbance
Staff at a local hotel reported a disturbance involving a male and female suspect. The female suspect discharged OC spray at several patrons of the business. The female suspect was held by patrons until police arrived and arrested the female suspect. EMS attended but the patrons impacted by the spray had already remedied the effects of the spray and declined medical attention. The female suspect was charged with Assault With Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.
Counterfeit $100
A local bank turned in a counterfeit $100 bill that was part of a deposit by a local fast-food restaurant.
Expired vehicle registration
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. The operator of the vehicle possessed an inactive Quebec driver’s licence and the vehicle was uninsured. The operator was arrested on a warrant and charged.
Attempt theft of truck
A person reported an attempted theft of their 2002 Dodge Ram truck from the area of 6104 54 Avenue.
Hit and Run on vehicle
A person reported a hit and run on a vehicle while parked at the arena.
Hit and Run on power box
A FORTIS employee reported one of the power boxes in Creekview had been struck by a vehicle that left the scene.
Public intoxication
Staff at a local hotel contacted police regarding a male sleeping on a couch in the banquet hall area. Police located and detained the male for public intoxication.
Impaired driver
A person reported two intoxicated people had an argument then got into a vehicle. Police arrived and gave the operator of the subject vehicle an Alcohol Screening Device test which they failed. The operator was issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction. The vehicle was towed and the operator was arrested to prevent a further breach of peace.
Causing concerns
St. Mary’s Hospital staff reported a female (not presenting medical need) causing concerns and refusing to leave the premises. Police attended and spoke with the female who agreed to leave the premises. Several hours later the female returned caused concerns and again refused to leave. Police attended and in interest of public safety arrested the female to prevent further breach of peace.
Break and Enter
A person reported their residence was broken into and property, including a sword, 32 inch flat screen television, blanket, cleaning supplies and miscellaneous tools were stolen.
Unlawful entry
A person reported finding an unknown male suspect standing inside their residence. The suspect left the home. The person reporting provided police with a description of the suspect and the clothing they were wearing. Police conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
Dangerous operation of vehicle
A person reported a male subject operating a vehicle in a dangerous manner, subsequently crashing into a fence in the area of 4502 66 Street Close. Police located the vehicle and charged the operator of the vehicle with driving at an unreasonable rate of speed.
Erratic driving
A person reported a vehicle being operated erratically heading into Camrose from the east and that someone in the vehicle threw a bottle at the person-reporting’s vehicle. The person reporting provided police with a description of the subject vehicle and licence plate number. Police located the vehicle fitting the description and attempted a traffic stop. The subject vehicle sped away south of Camrose on a gravel road. Police terminated pursuit.
