Hit and run on vehicle

A person reported their vehicle was hit by another vehicle while parked outside their residence and the subject vehicle left the scene. The person indicated the incident was recorded on their CCTV.

Break in and theft from vehicle

A person reported the back window of their vehicle was smashed out while it was parked in the area of the off-leash dog park. Bank cards were stolen from the vehicle and used unlawfully.

Stolen commercial vacuum

A representative of a local gas bar reported the gas bar vacuum had gone missing and review of CCTVideo revealed a dark truck pull up in the early morning, someone exit the truck and take the vacuum.  Still under investigation.

Collision between train and vehicle

Police assisted RCMP at a report of a collision between a passenger vehicle and train north of Highway 13 bordering Camrose and Camrose County. No injuries reported.

Counterfeit $100

A local retail store manager attended Camrose Police Station and turned in a counterfeit $100 bill, which they indicated was told to be counterfeit by the bank. The person reported receiving the bill some time between November 14-15.

Attempted break in

A person reported that someone attempted to break into their garage in the area of 5006 and 48 Street, causing significant damage to a window and door.  This matter is under investigation.

Stabbing

A person reported a stabbing that occurred at a local hotel. The suspect was identified to police. EMS attended however the victim refused medical attention. Police located the suspect and arrested and charged them with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous.

Business vacuum stolen

A business representative reported the outside commercial vacuum at their business was stolen.

Stolen vehicle

A person reported an abandoned vehicle near 57 Street and 51 Avenue (noted for 3 days). The licence plate number provided to police came up reported stolen on November 13.

Rental vehicle not returned

A representative of a local business reported one of the rental vehicles had not been returned. Police attended the address of the person indicated on the rental agreement noting the residence was vacant and boarded up.

Obstruction

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver exited the vehicle, became uncooperative and failed to produce documents. The suspect was arrested for obstruction and given an Alcohol Screening Device test, resulting in a fail. The suspect was issued four violation tickets and an Immediate Roadside Sanction.

Counterfeit $100

A person representing a local bank reported a $100 counterfeit bill that was received though a regular deposit from a local fast-food restaurant.

Impaired driver

A person reported a possible impaired driver. Police located the subject vehicle based on the information provided and conducted a traffic stop. The driver and registered owner provided a breath sample and failed. The driver was issued a ticket and Immediate Roadside Sanction.

Dangerous driving

A person reported a vehicle being driven dangerously in the parking lot of a local pre-school. The person reporting provided a description of the vehicle and a licence plate number to police. Police located the subject vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Police contacted the registered owner of the vehicle and issued a warning to the driver.

Erratic driving

A person reported a person driving erratically in the Walmart parking lot and provided police with a licence plate number of the subject vehicle. Police contacted the registered owner who indicated their son was driving the vehicle.

Train incident

CN reported an incident occurring on train tracks involving an individual exiting a vehicle at the 51 Avenue crossing and going onto the tracks. 

Train incident follow-up

A follow-up of the incident occurring on the CN train tracks further indicated that the person who exited their vehicle laid down on the train tracks. The conductor of the oncoming train was able to activate the emergency braking, stopping the train prior to incident. The individual got up and left in the vehicle they arrived in.

Possible investment scam

A person reported being scammed through an alleged loan business (Consumer Capital) located out of Toronto. The person reporting provided the alleged business with personal details including their name, date of birth, card number and password. The person reporting has since been blocked by the alleged business.

Theft of vehicle

A person reported theft of a vehicle (1997 Dodge Ram) with a flat deck in progress. Investigation continues.

Brandishing knife

A person reported and identified a person brandishing a knife at a local bar. Police located and arrested the male suspect who was charged with assault with a weapon and threats.
