Scam

A person reported being scammed out of $2,500 after receiving a text stating they had won $200,000 but needed to send $2,500 in Apple cards in order to claim their prize.

Disturbance

Staff at a local hotel reported a male causing a disturbance in the lobby a second time after being warned by police the first time. The male was arrested and lodged in police cells to prevent further breach of peace and released in the morning when sober.

Stolen merchandise

A person reported observing a male suspect steal a pair of boots from a local retail business. Police located the male suspect at a local fast-food restaurant inside the restroom, wearing the stolen boots and stolen gloves. The male was arrested and found in possession of non-stamped tobacco and two grams of fentanyl.

Scam

A person reported being allegedly defrauded out of $25,000 through an investment opportunity received by text. The person indicated they were shown a profit on the investment but would require to send $60,000 for taxes.  Investigation continues.

Siphoned gas

A person reported the gas had been siphoned out of their vehicle (several times) while the vehicle was parked behind an apartment building in the area of 114 Mount Pleasant Drive.

RV broken into

A person reported their RV had been broken into and various items, including an electric bike had been stolen.

 Vehicle break in

A person reported their vehicle had been entered unlawfully in the area of 4623 65 Street and some household items and tools were stolen.

Theft

A local retail store reported theft by a young male. Police attended and identified the male suspect through a photo provided to them.  The store representative requested a trespass notice to be served on the suspect.

Executed search warrant

Police executed a search warrant on a local residence and garage. During the search police located and seized 1 ounce of methamphetamine, 1 ounce of fentanyl, a small amount of cocaine and $2,100 cash. One person was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Proceeds of a Crime.
