Checkstop
Police conducted a checkstop following the conclusion of the Viking Cup Tournament. No concerns.
Collision
A person reported a collision that occurred at 48 Avenue and 48 Street. The operator of the vehicle conducting a turn northbound on 48 Street was struck by another vehicle travelling westbound on 48 Avenue (in the right of way but unable to stop due to icy conditions.) The vehicle turning onto 48 Street sustained approximately $5000 damage and was towed.
Suspicious vehicle
A person reported a vehicle entering a local business parking lot and removing fuel from a couple of slip tanks. This matter is still under investigation, pending review of CCTV footage.
Theft
A local retail business representative reported the theft of a watch valued between $900-1000, stolen from a display case.
Stolen utility trailer
A person reported an enclosed utility (work) trailer filled with tools , was stolen from a residential yard (4269 37 Street). The person indicated the lock had been smashed.
Accessible parking spaces
A person reported non-authorized use (no accessible parking space permit displayed) of accessible parking spaces at the City of Camrose Recreation Centre parking lot. On a later date Bylaw observed two vehicles parked in accessible parking spaces noting no accessible parking space permits displayed in the vehicles and subsequently issued tickets.
Garage B&E’s
Several reports were received regarding garages and vehicles being unlawfully entered in the areas of Elliot Drive, 62 A Street Close and 32 Avenue. Wallets were reported stolen from two vehicles and in two separate instances a debit card was used without authorization at two different local retail businesses.
Stolen truck
A person reported their 2004 Ford truck was stolen from the area of 6122 32 Avenue.
Arrest on warrants
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic violations. The passenger of the vehicle was arrested on 21 outstanding warrants.
Criminal Flight
Police attempted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed, exiting Camrose. The RCMP were notified.
Assault
EMS requested police assistance at a residence concerning a person who had been assaulted. The victim indicated a female suspect had beat them with a cane and chair and also threw a knife at a wall. The victim was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by EMS. Police located and arrested the female suspect.
